Windows 10 Adds Wireless 3D Printing

Posted by 3DPrint360 Staff on

Microsoft is ditching the cord when it comes to 3d printing.

Instead of requiring Windows users to connect their 3d printers via USB in order to operate the printer from their computers, Windows 10 will now allow you to run print job from your home or office wifi network with a Raspberry Pi connection.

It's called....wait for it... Network 3D Printer with Windows 10 IoT Core.

Catchy.

The Raspberry Pi device is connected to your 3d printer, and using the new app from Microsoft, the printer will be readable over your wifi network.  This allows you to setup and run your 3d printer from within Windows 10 wirelessly.
