Info for each material type available in a FilaBox is below.
PLA is the most commonly used material for desktop 3d printing. It is a plastic made from sustainable natural products, making it biodegradable and friendly to the environment. While not as strong as other materials available for 3d printing, PLA is a relatively tough plastic.
Recommended Extrusion Temperatures: 195C-215C
Bed Temperature: 0-70C
ABS is a multi-use material and one of the most commonly used filaments for 3d printing. If you're familiar with legos then you're familiar with ABS, because lego bricks are made from ABS. End use prints with ABS tend to have a higher degree of durability and flexibility than those made with PLA.
Recommended Extrusion Temperatures: 225C-245C
Bed Temperature: 80-110C
This is a special filament developed by ThreeD Materials which allows you to print flexible, wear resistant objects with ease. It has an extremely high abrasion resistance and it's properties are consistent throughout the entire roll of filament. If you want reliable, affordable, easy to use flexible filament, go with ThreeD Flex.
Recommended Extrusion Temperatures: 190C-240C
Bed Temperature: 40-50C
Nylon is a high strength, extra durable filament if you need something stronger than PLA or ABS. This filament is capable of creating industrial grade parts and prototypes, with chemical resistance, right from your desktop 3d printer.
Extruder temperature: 225C - 235C
Print bed: Glass heated to 45C with coat of PVA
